Chaos is an opportunity to make money for the owners of the premises, if you have a couple of free squares at home. Opportunity for tenants to get rid of unnecessary things when moving.
The project was a startup focused on creating a storage solutions platform, developed to MVP within six months. Our team of approximately 20 people included three designers: a design lead, myself as the product designer, and a graphic designer.

The product is a web and mobile service connecting landlords with extra space to tenants needing temporary storage. It helps residents and tourists in England by offering a platform for landlords to monetize unused space and tenants to find affordable, nearby storage.
Landlords: People who have extra space (garage, room, storage unit) that they don't currently use but would like to rent out.
Tenants: Individuals, often during moving or traveling, who need short-term storage for their belongings but struggle to find affordable, accessible options.
To begin, I conducted user research to better understand the needs, motivations, and pain points of both tenants and landlords. This involved interviews with potential users from both groups.

Questions and answers for an in-depth interview
After gathering insights from the user interviews, I identified the main challenges that both groups faced.
For Tenants:
• Difficulty finding affordable, nearby temporary storage during moves.
• Limited availability of flexible short-term storage solutions.
For Landlords:
• Uncertainty about the rental process and concerns over property damage or non-payment.
• Lack of time to manage tenants or handle paperwork.
Based on the problems defined, I brainstormed several ideas to solve them. The primary goal was to create a platform that would simplify the process of renting space and finding storage.
Key Ideas:
• A two-sided platform for both tenants and landlords, with separate user flows for each.
• Simple onboarding for landlords, minimizing the time and effort needed to start renting their space.
• Geolocation-based search for tenants to find nearby storage quickly and easily.
• Secure payment and contract system to give both parties peace of mind.

Wireframes
Using the insights from the ideation phase, I created wireframes and prototypes for both the web and mobile versions of the platform. These prototypes included:
• Registration and onboarding flows for both tenants and landlords.
• Search and booking flow for tenants, allowing them to quickly find storage by location, price, and availability.
• Management dashboard for landlords, where they can manage bookings, monitor payments, and communicate with tenants.
• A comprehensive UI Kit that ensured consistency across all screens and maintained a user-friendly design.

Profile
The final product is an adaptive website and mobile app with separate user flows for tenants and landlords.
Tenant flow:
• Register or browse storage options.
• Search for available spaces by location, price, and availability.
• Book storage and securely pay through the platform.
• Manage bookings and communicate with landlords in a personal dashboard.
Landlord flow:
• Register and list available spaces with details such as price, location, and availability.
• Manage listings, accept bookings, and communicate with tenants through a personal dashboard.
• Track payments and get real-time updates on bookings.

Our project highlights the importance of user-centered design for platforms serving two distinct user groups. Over six months, three designers developed a mobile app and adaptive web version, prioritizing simplicity and security to meet user demands for ease of use and reliability. Future enhancements could include improved rating systems and advanced search features.
