About The Project

I was the founding designer on this project — responsible for setting the design direction from scratch, shaping the user experience, and building a scalable design system.

01. The Challenge

Merging Classifieds with E-commerceAs the Founding Designer, the goal was to create a seamless marketplace for second-hand goods that feels as reliable as a modern online store. Key challenges included:
• Friction in Listing: Traditional ad posting is often tedious, leading to incomplete listings and low buyer trust.
• Complex Inventory: Users needed a way to navigate massive, diverse inventories without feeling overwhelmed.
Trust Gap: Second-hand markets suffer from a lack of transparency between buyers and sellers.

02. The Solution

Simplicity & Transparency First
I designed a mobile-first responsive platform that prioritizes speed for sellers and clarity for buyers.
• Step-by-Step Posting Wizard: A simplified listing flow that guides sellers through categories and details, resulting in 30% more complete listings.
• High-Trust Profile System: Integrated verified contacts, deal locations, and organized listing management (Active, Sold, Archived) to build platform credibility.
• Advanced Discovery Engine: A hybrid search experience combining e-commerce style filters with rapid "Show Number" and "Send Message" CTAs for instant communication.

03. Key Achievements & Metrics

• 0-to-1 MVP Launch: Successfully delivered a fully responsive web and mobile product, establishing the brand’s visual identity and UX foundations.
• 40% Faster Ad Posting: Streamlined the listing flow, allowing users to go from "Category Selection" to "Published" in under 2 minutes.
• 95% Task Success Rate: Usability testing showed that users could find specific items and initiate contact with zero critical errors.
Design System Efficiency: Created a comprehensive UI Kit that reduced development handoff time by 50% and ensured 100% UI consistency across 50+ screens.

04. Design Process

• Discovery: Competitor analysis and stakeholder interviews to define the "Junk" value proposition.
• UX Strategy: Mapping the CJM to identify drop-off points in the checkout and posting loops.
Adaptive UI: Designing for a mobile-first experience while ensuring the desktop version utilizes the full screen for data-heavy management tasks.
