I was the founding designer on this project — responsible for setting the design direction from scratch, shaping the user experience, and building a scalable design system. 2025

Challenge

Created the first design concept from scratch, combining classifieds and e-commerce. Built a clean, scalable design system with adaptive UX for web and mobile.

Key insights

Users need simplicity and speed when posting, trust and transparency to feel secure, a mobile-first design for accessibility, and intuitive filters to navigate large inventories.

User research

As the founding designer, I researched user needs through competitor analysis, interviews, and surveys to understand motivations, frustrations, and trust factors. I mapped the customer journey to highlight pain points in navigation, posting, and checkout, and created personas: sellers seeking a quick, simple listing flow and buyers needing easy search, reliable info, and transparent communication.

Key Decisions

This flow shows the buyer journey in Junk: from exploring categories and promotions on the Home screen, to narrowing results with advanced filters, and finally viewing a detailed product page with photos, price, and seller info. Clear CTAs like Show number and Send Message make communication fast and transparent, ensuring a smooth buying experience.

This flow shows how users post an ad in Junk: they choose a category, fill in item details (brand, model, title, price), and then upload photos. The step-by-step process keeps it simple, ensures complete listings, and builds trust with buyers.

How users post an ad

These screens show the account flow: the Profile page lets users manage details, verify contacts, and set deal locations, building trust. The My Listings page organizes ads into tabs (Under Review, Active, Sold, Archived), giving sellers a clear, efficient overview of their items.
