We started by examining the existing checkout process, which revealed that users were abandoning carts due to the complexity and the number of steps required to complete a purchase. Key pain points included a confusing interface, lack of payment options, and a lengthy sign-up form.
Old and new user flow
Brainstorming sessions led to numerous ideas such as guest checkout options, multi-payment integration, and a progress indicator. We sketched these features with a focus on minimalism and efficiency.
We developed a low-fidelity prototype for the new checkout flow with a simplified form, intuitive navigation, and clear calls to action. New features like a one-page checkout and saved payment options were added. Testing with customers showed appreciation for the one-page checkout, but also highlighted the need for clearer error messages and a more visible order summary.
